Learn how contacting conductivity sensors work. In clean and non-corrosive water, the most common method for inline conductivity measurement is contacting conductivity. Contacting conductivity sensors feature two electrodes – an outer electrode and an inner electrode that features an RTD for automatic temperature compensation. When immersed in process fluid, the fluid flows through the annular region between the two electrodes to measure the ionic current. Emerson offers a variety of Rosemount contacting conductivity sensors to help improve your processes.
